Mantra de Retalhos is a podcast series by Favela Discos, commissioned by Fonoteca Municipal do Porto. The project involved creating eight podcast episodes using audio sourced from Fonoteca's vinyl record collection, and each episode was crafted by a different member of the Favela Discos collective. My contribution, titled Super Stereo, features five original sample-based compositions: Plumberphonyx, Paso Duble, A Lancetada, Blues, and Ole.

Synopsis

It is through a strange irony of fate that Super Stereo, a form of art universally recognized and admired, still ignores its true origin. Whatever that origin may be, it is irretrievably lost in time, and generations of scholars will try in vain to reconstruct its genesis. This episode, an exceptional series of Super Stereo and Audio-Fidelity stereophonic recordings, presents a technique and sound art without precedent, precisely and accurately revealing the perfect mirror that is the sound carrier – the record.
